X Games Unveils the Real Street Skate

It’s going to be another exciting year for the competition
CHRIS MORGAN  |

Just because the Olympics have skateboarding now doesn’t mean the X Games are going anywhere. However, the chaos of the last year and some change has led to some changes in the world of the long-standing “extreme sports” competition. In 2020, the X Games were a remote affair, and to a degree that will be the case in 2021. X Games has announced that Real Street will be happening again in 2021, with the same format they used in 2020.

Namely, one skater and one videographer are paired together to create a one-minute edit. The best edit wins. We now know two things. One, the edits will all be dropping on July 5. Two, we know the skaters involved. We’re talking: Jake Anderson, Matt Berger, Chris Colbourn, Axel Cruysberghs, Ducky Kovacs, Milton Martinez, Alexis Ramirez, and Frankie Spears. Set your calendar for July 5, and watch the announcement in the video above.
