Eye Watering Eye Opening Eye Catching

TJ Rogers' journey
AKI AKIWUMI  |

That’s how we’d describe the TJ Rogers story so far. The Canadian ripper, born in 1991 and Red Bull skater, has an angelic story in the way that it gives you wings.

As Red Bull describes him as a skater that “lets his skating do the talking... TJ put in the work to become pro for Blind with a lot of class and no shortcuts.”

So, we know the talent's there in abundance, no doubt, but the levels of bravery, strength, and admiration are second to none, and here’s why.

TJ Rodgers was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer and underwent chemotherapy, but did that stop him from skating… NO! Chemotherapy is most often used to treat cancer, as cancer cells grow and multiply rapidly compared to most cells in the body.

Via Instagram, TJ took the net to explain what he’s been going through and, in typical fashion, says, “not dwelling on something I can’t control.” The admiration comes from the selfless nature of the post, where even in his reluctance to speak on the topic, he uses his earned respect and fame in the skating world and more for people to feel and know that they are not alone in facing difficulties in life, be it similar to his situation or not.

As the man upstairs says, do good, and good will follow you. Well, good; we followed TJ Rodgers through his recovery and hope it continues into the foreseeable future. He took to Instagram yesterday with a positive message telling his people, fans, and more about what he describes as “one of the most challenging years yet.”

31 old? Nah, still young. So, join us in wishing the legend a belated birthday, one of heaps more lessgo.
