Vans’ New Future Series Is Weird, Personal, and Kind of Sick
Vans is messing with the formula in a good way. They just dropped news of the New Future campaign — a remix of the Old Skool silhouette, cooked up by four skaters who actually have something to say. Less cookie-cutter collab, more “this is who I am, deal with it.”
The result? Four very different takes on a classic shoe, each dripping with personality, edge, and just enough weirdness to feel legit.
Cocona Hiraki – July 17
Craft-core meets chaos. Cocona’s Old Skool drops first, with clear outsoles, removable charms, and hand-drawn art baked into the build. Feels like something you'd wear to bomb a hill or your friend’s backyard tattoo party.
Karina Rozunko – September 4
Karina’s pair leans vintage — asym wrap-around uppers, custom metal bits, and that carefree surf-girl-who-skates vibe. Flowy, loose, and zero interest in matching laces.
Tania Cruz – September 4
This one’s for the heads. Black leather that scrapes off to reveal red? Rub-away uppers = literal battle scars. Her shoe evolves with every slam, session, and sweaty July curb sesh. Skater-owned and story-worn.
Efron Danzig – September 10
Big final boss energy. Full-grain leather, corset laces, silver hardware, and an actual heel. Think: New York punk, high fashion, and 3am chinatown hill bombs. Fully unhinged. Fully working.
The New Future starts rolling out July 17 at Vans.com and Vans stores. Cop, or don’t. Just don’t pretend skate shoes haven’t changed.
