The World’s First All Recycled Skate Park
You must give credit where credit is due. The recent Edward Hopper collection raised sponsorship for the magnificent work of Cuba Skate. This innovative step is the first all-recycled plastic skatepark.
Founded in 2010 by Miles Jackson, who fell in love with the country while studying abroad in Havana, Miles built a small community of skaters where every time he would travel back, he would bring more gear. From this, programs grew with the mission to create an evolution to skateboarding in Cuba. From this mission, Milles would seek to build local communities and international connections to cultivate the youth through sport.
Three years into the project to collect 10+ tons of plastic waste every year until 2025, it is clear that this project is more comprehensive than just getting on a board and skating. The Edward Hopper Collection is helping the youth and the skate scene but is also helping mother earth in our fight to maintain and sustain our living on this planet.
Through innovative thinking like this, we will begin to make a change on a multi-faceted level worldwide. Integrating a change for the better with the sport to cultivate and captivate the youth must be admired. Visit and donate to Cuba Skate here!
