STREET LEAGUE SKATEBOARDING CANCEL BEIJING AND LA EVENT

With growing health concerns due to the Coronavirus Pandemic the iconic Street League Skateboarding have been forced to cancel their first two events. The first stops were scheduled to be held in Beijing and Las Vegas respectively.

2020 WORLD TOUR UPDATE: Due to the potential serious health concerns caused by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak and the associated travel restrictions, the first two stops of the SLS World Tour in Las Vegas and Beijing have been canceled. After careful consideration, given the global scope of this rapidly developing situation and following the recommendations of medical professionals and governmental officials, the decision to cancel the events has been made to best protect the health, safety and well-being of athletes and fans, which is always our top priority. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates regarding the SLS World Championship which is currently scheduled for ‪May 22-24, 2020‬ in London. Our thoughts are with all of those affected by the Coronavirus and we’d like to thank all of our partners, skaters, & fans for their continued support during this challenging time. The SLS world tour was announced back in January ahead of the Summer Olympics, and the points value is also contributing to the official Olympic qualification system. 

2020 Summer Olympics is going to see the debut of skateboarding as an official event, and the 3 finalists are slated to go the games in the summer. However, with two events canceled, the final result and its effect on the Olympics games is yet to be decided.
