HBO Finally Release The Premiere Date Of ‘BETTY’

The series is a spin-off of the 2018 hit movie 'Skate Kitchen'

HBO has announced the released date for their new skateboarding series ‘Betty’. The show will revolve around upcoming female skateboarders in New York City and is a spin-off from the 2018 celebrated, skateboarding film, Skate Kitchen. The original film won many accolades and has a 90% rating on Rotten tomatoes. The series is helmed by Hit tv show ‘Love’s’ co-creator Lesly Arfin, and ‘Skate Kitchen’s’ Crystal Moselle.

The film focuses on the plight of diverse, female skaters in a predominately male orientated skate scene. The series is also set in New York City like the movie, and the original cast of the movie are regulars in it. With Moselle already known as a skateboard fan and an advocate for female skaters due to her Sundance movie. Arfin also managed to add her love for skateboarding in all three seasons of Love, by adding skateboarding clips in the show. 

‘Betty’s’ first episode will air 1st May 2020 on HBO and stars the original cast from the movie Skate Kitchen; which includes Dede Lovelace, Moonbear, Nina Moran, Ajani Russell, and Rachelle Vinberg.
