Parra Designs Skateboard Federation kits for Nike SB
Nike SB has revealed federation kits ahead to the start of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. The USA, Brazil, Japan and France will all have their very own unique and colorful kit.
The designer behind the kits is none other than well-known artist and ex pro skater Piet Parra.
Since skateboarding debuts at the Games for the first time ever, the Swoosh thought about something special for their athletes. Each federation’s kit is unique and full of details. The kits all have a special Pantone color scheme that is inspired by Japanese art and scenery that comes with it.
“We started to see the natural connections between a landscape and the act of skating," said Donavan Harris, the Nike Design Lead for the kits. "You don’t skate in a vacuum. Everything that’s around you plays a role in drawing new lines.”
The kits will officially debut in July at the Olympic Games in Tokyo on skaters such as Nyjah Huston, Leticia Bufoni and Yuto Horigome.
A summer release is expected on the Nike web shop.
