Justin LaRose Makes Art Out of Old Skateboards

This is about the best kind of recycling we can think of

Hey, skateboards don’t last forever. Well, at least if you are actually using them to skate. We’ve all had boards that we had to retire, but we can’t exactly hang them in the rafters. What to do with old skateboarders? They don’t have to just be trashed. Just take a look at the works of Justin LaRose. LaRose is an artist based in Long Beach, which is why he was showcased in a video from Hi-Lo, the arts and culture section of The Long Beach Post. LaRose is a woodworker, but he’s got a specific milieu. He takes old skateboards and recycles them to make art. It’s pretty cool to see in action. You can watch LaRose do his thing here, but there’s also a full article you can read about the whole thing as well.
