Repeat Entertainment Presents, Oops

CHUCK HARP  |

The word “commit” is uttered a lot in skateboarding. It’s like a mantra for those who stare at a handrail or peer over the coping. And this lifestyle, tradition, or philosophy is exemplified best in the newest video from Krzysztof Godek and Repeat Entertainment, Oops.

With an intensity that would make even the Zero team take notice, this Poland-based video presents a group of skaters taking every chance. Each slam could rattle bones, let along shake someone’s confidence to keep pushing. But their boards continue to roll on regardless.

They roll on rough terrain. Across sculptures and glass, both shattered and intact. They zig-zag around all ignorant pedestrians spewing hatred in their direction. This might explain the video’s title as a sarcastic answer to all those who pushed them from a spot.

“How can it be good?” One man asks at the beginning of the video, trying to argue about the act of skating itself in the public space.

Oops provides a wordless answer. This crew chooses to instead speak in smooth lines, blood-boiling speeds, and liquid-like manuals.

“Do you want to die?” Another distressed man threatens, after making mention of his gun.
And though these daredevils might not have a death wish, they skate like their life depends on it. Go stream the full Oops video above.
