Get a Look at the Creative Process Behind Deck Design

It’s where artists and skaters come together!

Having your own pro model deck has to be cool for any skater, but you want it to look good, right? The artwork that goes into a deck is almost as important as the specs. Sure, a quality board matters but, well, there’s no personality in that, and plenty of boards out there are put together well. No, it’s the art that makes your deck stand out, and this video from Santa Cruz goes into that.

Thomas Fernandez was the artist who put together the design for Erick Winkowski’s “Sketchbook” model. How did it come together? Through collaboration and effort. In the end, Santa Cruz, Fernandez, and Winkowski ended up with three variants of the “Sketchbook” deck.
