Zion Wright has Split with Nike Skateboarding

What’s next for the rising star?
CHRIS MORGAN  |

The year 2021 could be a big year for Zion Wright. The skater will be part of the Tokyo Olympics this summer, which will be the first time skateboarding has been an Olympic event. He’s a good bet to bring home a medal for America, and the 22-year-old could go even bigger places from there. Wherever he goes, he apparently won’t be doing it with Nike SB. Wright has been sponsored by Nike’s (booming) skateboarding brand for a little while now, but while both the company and the skater are on the rise, they have parted ways. Zion announced the news via his Instagram, and it seems like the split has left no hard feelings. To quote Wright himself, “It’s been a great ride. But our partnership has come to an end. Thank you Nike SB and all the SB staff for the love & support over the years, it’s been real. Can’t wait to see what the future holds! It’s up!”

Best of luck to Wright. It will be interesting to see if he has a new shoe sponsor in time for the Tokyo Olympics.
