VF Corp to Buy Supreme

The company that owns Vans has added another skater fave into the mix

We’re pretty sure this is the first time that we’ve posted about a story we found on CNBC, but here we are. It’s very business-focused, and we know that mostly we’re all about posting cool skate videos. However, a diversity of content is never a bad thing, and this is some big news, even if it is about corporate dealings and insane amounts of money changing hands. You may have not heard of VF Corp, but they are the company that owns Vans and Dickies, two popular brands with skaters. After all, Vans is one of the quintessential skate brands. Now, VF Corp has announced they have plans to buy the apparel brand Supreme, which is one a lot of skaters are a fan of as well.

The deal is reportedly worth $2.1 billion, which is truly insane, but that’s the cost of doing business when popular, massive brands are involved. We’re pretty happy if we find a few bucks in a pair of pants we haven’t worn in a while, so we can’t relate. In addition to Vans and Dickies, VF Corp also owns brands like North Face and Timberland. Basically, they are a clothing and streetwear monolith. A lot of Dose readers probably have a bunch of VF Corp clothes in their closet. If you are a Supreme fan, soon you might have even more.
