TONY HAWK CHAT X GAMES AND MORE WITH ESPN

The legend has plenty to say.

ESPN doesn’t cover skateboarding a lot. Though it has legitimacy as a sport, and will be at the next Olympics, it doesn’t get a lot of love for the self-proclaimed “Worldwide leader in sports.” However, ESPN is also the place that gave us the X Games, which introduced skating to a lot of people. This is the 25th anniversary of the X Game, and pinned to that Tony Hawk visited the ESPN Daily podcast for a conversation.

Of course, when we say “visited,” we don’t mean that literally. Not in these times. ESPN Daily is a podcast hosted by the charming and talented Mina Kimes (usually) where she has a brief convo with somebody related to sports. It runs the gamut, content wise, and now they have finally gotten to skateboarding. Hawk is the obvious choice for this conversation. To this day, he’s probably the only skater that half of the world’s population can name. Plus, he had the most-iconic X Games moment even when he landed the 900. If you want to listen to Hawk reminisce on skating’s past, while also discussing the future, listen to him on ESPN Daily wherever you get your podcasts.
