THE DEW TOUR HAS BEEN PUSHED TO 2021

There will be no festival due to the pandemic.

Mountain Dew no longer feels like an “extreme” soda. Maybe that’s why they now often stylize their name “MTN DEW,” but we refuse to do that. The radioactively green soda company has leaned its name to the Dew Tour, a skating festival built around a variety of skateboarding events. It was supposed to happen this summer in Long Beach, but unfortunately that will not be happening. Instead, Mountain Dew has announced that the Dew Tour event in Long Beach will now happen in May of 2021.

We don’t need to explain why this happened, right? We’re tired of having to talk about COVID-19 messing with our lives and cool stuff like the Dew Tour. At least we know when the plan is. This isn’t just going to be a fun skateboarding festival either. The Dew Tour is going to be the final Olympic qualifying event for the U.S. team. The Tokyo Olympics, which were also pushed to next year, are going to be the first Olympics with skateboarding as an event. So if you make it to the Dew Tour in May 2021 when it finally happens, you might be seeing who makes the cut for the first-ever American skateboarding squad.
