Before the SLS contest weekend started, Erik Bragg, Blake Carpenter, and Kevin Bradley explored Chicago's skateboarding culture.
In this series, Erik Bragg meets local skaters in various cities around the world to learn about the best places to skate and the best and worst times to skate. As for finding good places to grab food between sessions, he shows you how to get the most bang for your buck. Or when it's all over and you're not quite ready to call it a day, we find out where skaters can wind down or get ramped up in some of the city's best bars and nightclubs.
They also talk to local skaters, including Matt Perez from Chicago's Uprise Skate Shop, about their experiences and insights into the city's skate scene. They hit as many spots as they can, despite the rain, and find cover at one of the city's most famous undercover spots. Thanks to Uprise Skateshop, they didn't get lost too much!
