SKATEISTAN SHARES “GOODPUSH ALLIANCE”

It’s a great way to promote skating and inclusivity in skateboarding

Did you catch the Oscar-winning documentary short Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone (If You’re a Girl)? If you did, you are aware of Skateistan, the non-profit company that is dedicated to promoting skateboarding, particularly in disadvantaged areas and among the female population. They are doing great things, but they can only do so much. That’s why they’ve started the “Goodpush Alliance,” and you can help.

The “Goodpush Alliance” is a knowledge-sharing initiative that hopes to span the entire globe. What Skateistan is doing is providing kits for developing a skating program worldwide, even in less-privileged areas. The kits are designed to help you provide skate lessons, education, youth leadership, and the ability to create a safe space. Also, for these times, they have information on COVID-19 response. If you are looking to start up a new skateboarding development program, the “Goodpush Alliance” is designed to, well, give you a push to start. Watch the video from Skateistan on “Goodpush” here, or check out the website for the initiative here. At the very least, consider passing the information along to help Skateistan out in their goals.
