The Vans x Sci-Fi Fantasy Collection Invokes 90’s Nostalgia
Two years after their previous collaboration, Vans x Jerry Hsu Sci-Fi Fantasy release another shoe collab, this time with a big twist on two different models; Skate Sid VCU and Skate Half Cab '92 VCU.
The Half Cab model will be 30 this year, so with that in mind, it's no surprise that the shoe made its way into another awesome collaboration. This pair has Eden green suede with exposed white stitching over it, black suede panels under the green one with black Chinese letters across the collars and mid-foot windows, and also has bright orange letters written on the heels too, and, of course, a bright orange half Cab logo on the side on a black rectangle background.
In another way, Skate Sid VCU nourishes a black cracked leather upper resembling the printing of an alligator with exposed white stitching. Also, bright orange as a color to contrast with an embroidered Flying V logo on the side, two trips on the side of the sole, and the tongue Vans and Sci-Fi's logo in bold letters.
As for technical upgrades, both models have major improvements. Duracap™ which is reinforcement material in ruff-wear areas, such as toe bumpers, better gum rubber with more grip, called SickStick™and PopCush foam insole that's made to absorb impact and protect you while skating.
You can grab a pair of Skate Half Cab '92 VCU and the Skate Sid VCU at select Vans retailers or the Sci-Fi Fantasy website.
