RED BULL AND VLADIK SCHOLZ GIVES US AN AMAZING SKATING PROJECT

When we say it’s “amazing,” we mean it

Red Bull likes to take things to the extreme. Sometimes it’s a bit much, but it also gives us some of the cooler projects we’re seen in the skateboarding realm. This latest one may be the best of the bunch though. Red Bull team member Vladik Scholz put his brain to work creating an indoor skatepark dubbed “The Maze,” and it’s pretty incredible to behold.

Did you ever have one of those toys as a kid where you had to work a marble through a maze by tilting it around? Well a lot of those weren’t technically mazes but were more labyrinths, labyrinths being about getting to the center, while mazes are about getting out of the maze through an exit. Ah, but we digress. The important thing is that you remember those toys. Well Scholz and Red Bull have created a giant one of those. “The Maze” weighs over 40 tons and is suspended 10 feet in the air. Oh, and there is a huge metal ball, of course. Scholz took his creation for a spin, and he was joined by Madars Apse, Jost Arens, and Gustavo Ribeiro. This is the kind of skating experience none of us will likely have. Fortunately, we can live vicariously through these guys above.
