BLAKE JOHNSON GETS REMIXED FOR SANTA CRUZ

We’re far from the end of his skating career.

Last year, Santa Cruz released the video ‘Til the End Vol. 3. In hindsight, maybe they would want to change the name. The idea of “the end” has become more ominous. Kind of like how Phoebe Bridgers had to change the name of a song on her new album from “ICU” to “I See You.” Anyway, don’t hold the idea of finality against Santa Cruz of the video. It’s quite good, and Blake Johnson is a big reason why.

Johnson, who is a native of Venice as opposed to Santa Cruz, had a memorable part in ‘Til the End Vol. 3. What could make it better, or at least different? A remix! Joe Perrin, a videographer in his own right, has remixed Johnson’s part to great effect. It’s almost like getting to see a whole new video. Hey, maybe somebody will remix the remix? And then remix that remix? And so on until the end of time? Which, fingers crossed, will be centuries from now. Until then, time to watch Johnson in action.
