Watch Gabryel Aguilar’s Underdog Run at Red Bull Conquest

Red Bull Skateboarding travels the world for its Red Bull Conquest contest series. After stops in Paris and Lisbon, the competition was down in Rio de Janeiro for the latest event. The Brazilian city is known for parties and beautiful beaches, but it also played host to quite the skateboarding event from Red Bull, including a local skater surprising many and emerging victorious.

Gabryel Aguilar, a Sao Paulo skater, was one of the competitors at Red Bull Conquest from Rio. The format of the contest is sudden death, which makes it a little easier for upstarts. Not that Aguilar is some sort of slouch, but some of the biggest, most-successful skaters in the world were taking part in the contest. In the end, though, Aguilar earned what Red Bull’s own YouTube page calls an “UNEXPECTED” win.
