Vert Drop-In Challenge: Conquering Fear at Fennpfuhl
For our latest video, we put the crew to the ultimate test: the Vert Drop-In Challenge. Yes, the most terrifying drop in skateboarding. Have you ever tried it yourself? Most of our crew hadn’t—even Gino, our former German Olympic team member, was feeling the fear. He put it best: "Every Vert drop feels like the first. The fear never really goes away."
To help ease everyone into it, we kicked things off at the Bowls at Gleisdreick in Berlin, starting with some smaller drops. The big bowl there is pretty high, and the vert wall is enough to scare even the most seasoned skaters. Willi was definitely struggling, but did he manage to overcome his fear? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.
After warming up, we headed over to the new Vert Ramp in Fennpfuhl. On the way, we had a run-in with the Berlin ticket control officers, which didn’t go too well. Those guys were absolute assholes, and as much as we’d love to show the exchange in the video, we'll just say it here: Never give people with a low IQ positions of power.
But I digress—back to the vert ramp. Standing at the top of that ramp was enough to rattle even the most experienced skaters in the crew. Who could gather the courage to make the drop? Who ended up facing their fears? Find out in the video above!
