Exploring Little Pripyat: Skating in Berlin’s Abandoned Ghost Town
Just outside of Berlin lies a place that feels straight out of a post-apocalyptic movie – Little Pripyat. This abandoned ghost town was once a Soviet military airbase, now left to decay and slowly overtaken by nature. Its crumbling buildings, overgrown streets, and eerie silence make it a perfect setting for urban explorers and thrill-seekers alike.
Known for its unsettling resemblance to the real Pripyat, the city abandoned after the Chernobyl disaster, Little Pripyat feels like a place frozen in time. The site has drawn attention from explorers, photographers, and even urban skaters looking to try their tricks in one of the most haunting spots in Germany.
Our skate crew—Gino, Danny, Jonathan, Wesey, Konrad, and Lasse—decided to venture into this decaying site to see if it could actually be a good place to skate. With no prior knowledge of the area and unsure if it was even possible to skate, we set out to explore this forgotten corner of Berlin. Did we find good spots? Watch the video to find out!
We hope this exploration of Little Pripyat gives you a glimpse of what it's like to skate in one of Berlin’s most abandoned—and most fascinating—places. Stay tuned for more adventures as we continue to explore hidden gems!
