Feel The Groove In The Vault By Vans X Taka Hayashi

Because style does matter!
ANTONIO BENEGIAMO  |

Taka Hayashi, born in Yokohama - Japan and raised in Santa Monica - California, has an impressive artistic background and a life well spent in the skateboarding scene.

Hayashi started his career drawing a t-shirt line in a small skate shop and eventually got to Vans through his friend Berto, from Supreme LA and Vans Syndicate. After being deeply impressed with Hayashi’s art Berto invited him to collaborate, all the way back in 2005! Hayashi’s distinctive artistic style gave him the opportunity to realize his own line within Vans.

The two new releases—the OG Style 24 LX and OG Style 47 LX, are a skater boys(or girls) dream shoe. Style 24 is a high-top shoe with full canvas uppers, contrast piping and lace guard. This new line comes in the color options of black and white, as well as a trendy off-white option. Both of them include Hayashi’s iconic checkerboard print.

The OG style 47 LX is tipping its hat to racing suits of the 1970s. Similar to Style 24, Style 47 also has a touch of the checkerboard pattern. This funky, skater friendly shoe comes in two incredible colors, “Baja Blue” and “Raven”.

The Taka Hayashi X Vans combo is out in stores now and you don’t need to be a skater to wear these groovy kicks!
