Vans Debuts Curren Caples' Signature Skate Shoe
Vans has just dropped Curren Caples' first signature skate shoe, the CURREN, and it's a game-changer for fans of vulcanized performance and clean design. This release blends Vans' heritage with Caples' smooth, surf-inspired style, delivering a shoe that's as functional as it is stylish.
Built for the Streets, Backed by Tech
The CURREN is all about performance without the fluff. It features a custom outsole pattern with Vans' SICKSTICK™ rubber for top-tier grip and boardfeel. DURACAP™ underlays reinforce high-wear areas, while the POPCUSH™ insole keeps landings soft and legs fresh. Caples himself put it best: "I've been skating Vans my whole life and never really thought I would have a shoe with my name on it. It's a pretty cool feeling!"
A Campaign That Breaks the Mold
To launch the CURREN, Vans teamed up with photographer Gray Sorrenti and filmmaker Grant Yansura for a tongue-in-cheek campaign that riffs on classic fragrance ads. Skate legends like Ray Barbee, Anthony Van Engelen, Geoff Rowley, Omar Hassan, and Steve Van Doren make cameo appearances, adding a touch of humor and heritage to the visuals.
The CURREN drops in red and gray/yellow colorways on May 15 at Vans stores, online at Vans.com/Skate, and select skate shops worldwide. For those who prefer a stealthier look, the all-black Curren VCU is already available at select retailers.
Whether you're hitting the park or just cruising the streets, the CURREN is built to handle it all with style and substance.
