Tom Drury is Skating for a Good Cause

He’s raising money for a skatepark in Laos

What’s the longest distance you’ve ever traveled on your skateboard? As much as we love skating, it’s not always the best way to go terribly far, as opposed to a bike or a car. Don’t tell that to Tom Drury, though. He’s got some big ambitions for his board. Currently, the Australian is in the process of skating from Melbourne to Cairns. If you don’t know, that’s 4,000 kilometers, or about 2,500 miles. That’s basically the entire East Coast, and he’s going through a pair of shoes per two weeks. Oh yeah, he’s been at it for over nine weeks already. However, it’s for a good cause. Drury is raising money to try and build the first skatepark in Laos. You can check out the GoFundMe for the park right here, but you can also check out a video BBC did about him as well.
