Nike Launches The Nike SB GTS In AIR MAX 1 Inspired ‘Sport Red’
Nike has relaunched its Nike SB GTS collection as a homage to the classic Nike sportswear. The iconic Air Max 1 has been launched in ‘Sport Red’, the classic colorway of Tinker Hatfield’s seminal 1987 AM1. These designs showcased the first-ever sneakers with a visible air unit.
Hatfield has been responsible for Nike’s most iconic designs, which include Air Jordans 3 to 15, Nike Air Trainers, Air Max 1, and infrared Air Max 90, just to name a few. So it’s given that Nike will use the designers' colorway for their Nike SB GTS return design. The iconic skating sneakers have been made of a combo of white mesh with soft grey and vivid red suedes.
With the radiant red being used for the swooshes, mudguards, and heel pieces, this design is eye-catching and one of a kind. The GTS Return tongue tag stays true to the original Air Max 1 style design, and the embossed SB midsole branding completes the design.
These are just some of the features of the newly launched sneakers, and with the initial announcement most of the sneakers have already sold out. However, we have managed to track down an online retailer who has restored the collection due to its popular demand in the market. Shop them here for $97 USD.
