Shane “Nugget” O’Neills First Signature SB Shoe Is Dropping February 1st
Nike and Nugget go way back. The down-under skater has had Nike as a sponsor ever since he was shredding it up in Australia at the age of 14. After more than 15 years of sponsorship, O’Neill will finally see his first signature shoes hit the shelves.
The Nike SB Shane, as they’ve cleverly been named, will release on February 1st in four colorways of ‘Summit white/University red’, ‘dark grey/gum’, ‘cream white/gum’ and ‘black/white’. Even though O’Neill focused a lot on the look for his first signature release he also used his 15 years of experience as a Nike SB skater to perfect both the materials, fit and feel for this shoe. Having skated almost every shoe Nike SB have to offer, including Blazers, Lunar One Shots and his personal favorite Janoskis, Nugget had a good idea of what he wanted in the Nike SB Shane model, and it seems like he pulled it off with finesse.
The shoe features a soft and thin but still sturdy nubuck upper and toe box. A material chosen by O’Neill to maximize the traction of the shoemaking your flip tricks easier. Continuing the shoe features a solid colored top with minimalistic but classic looking details and an outlined swoosh in a secondary color. The sole, as carefully explained by O’Neill, is super grippy for maximum grip of your board. The Nike SB Shanes are also decorated by a sun-inspired design featuring the skater's initials OS.
