The Santa Cruz Skateboards team recently dropped a part that certainly got attention (ours included). It celebrated 50 years of Santa Cruz as an ongoing concern as a hard goods company. That’s incredible enough as is. However, the part was also an entrant in Red Bull’s No Rewind contest, a tribute to the Sony VX100, the iconic camera for skate filmers.
Well, it can now be said that Santa Cruz’s entrant won. Now, Santa Cruz is taking us behind the scenes of how that happened. They’ve dropped a video that pulls back the curtain on the part, including how they came up with the balloon idea. It’s a cool peek behind the scenes, especially since, you know, it won.
