Woodward, the global leader in action sports experiences, announced today that Ryan Sheckler is designing and will unveil this summer the Sandlot East Skatepark at Woodward Pennsylvania – a brand new, 8,800 square feet indoor skatepark designed as a next generation version of his personal training facility in California. Designed for intermediate to higher ability level Skate Campers and pro level athletes to train, the new Sandlot East is part of more than 42,000 square feet of facilities currently under renovation at Woodward Pennsylvania that will open for Summer Camp in June.

Sheckler first attended Woodward as a camper at age seven and has been part of the Woodward family for the past 24 years. He was officially named Woodward’s Skate Program Designer in 2021. For Sheckler, leading by example is the most effective way to inspire and mentor the next generation of skateboarders. He is now continuing this mission with the creation of Sandlot East.

Currently under construction, Sandlot East will be completed in this Spring with Sheckler and the BLDRS crew to get “first wheels” in early May. Sandlot East will open to Woodward Pennsylvania campers on June 4 at the start of Week 1 of camp. Sheckler will be the VIP athlete onsite at Woodward Pennsylvania during Week 11, August 13 to 19, with a grand opening event planned for August 17th. In addition, Sheckler will be at Woodward West for Week 6 of camp (July 9 to 15).

Sandlot East is just one aspect of renovations taking place at Woodward Pennsylvania that will be unveiled this summer. Other new facilities will include a multisport progression hub and a reimagined snake run.
