RED BULL SKATES THE STREETS OF MARSEILLE

France’s oldest city is apparently Grind Central.

When you think of France, the first city you think of is probably Paris. You imagine yourself on a bike with a baguette poking out of the basket and you’ve got your beret on. Let’s face it, you envision yourself riding past the Eiffel Tower, aren’t you? Well Marseille deserves some love. It’s the second-biggest city in France, and it’s technically an even older city. People have been settled in the area since way back in the BCE times. There’s still a ton of old-world charm in that city, and some of that is apparently just perfect for skating.

Red Bull is a decidedly new-school company, and we don’t think dudes were chugging energy drinks millennia ago. Sometimes when old meets new you get something cool, though. Red Bull’s skate team took to the streets of Marseille to get some skating in. The video above showcases the cities landscape along with some cool tricks. Obviously none of the rails used for grinding were around way back in the day, but until we get a time machine working it’s the best we can do.
