OMG I WON THE POWERBALL!
Let's take it back to January 2016 when $1.5 billion was the amount of money someone would receive if they won the Powerball. Of course, this was worth the commotion, and a buzz was in the air; everyone who is anyone wanted a chance to receive this life-changing money.
Yet, there was a different buzz in the air for Erik Bragg; he saw this whole situation differently. That's right, a prime time to troll the internet.
Erik Bragg is a pro skater, filmmaker, and actor who has grown a large social media following across numerous platforms—using these platforms to capitalize on the buzz around the $1.5 billion jackpot in January 2016.
Bragg decided to post a picture of him holding a Powerball ticket with the winning numbers and the following caption:
"OMG, I WON $1.5 BILLION!!!!! I'm posting this in case anyone tries to jack me this is proof! Look it up, I bought in chino hills where I grew up! #powerball"
Now, of course, the internet took this, and it spread quicker than butter on a hot pan; but a few started to raise queries at the ticket's validity, and rightly so. It goes without saying that not everything you see on the internet is real.
The difference is the 'ABCDE' are listed vertically along the left side of the ticket. This indicates that Bragg had bought the ticket to play five sets of numbers on the same ticket, with the ticket only showing the winning set of numbers.
This mistake sent the internet into a frenzy, with many concluding the photo had been photoshopped, but not before hundreds of thousands of people were exposed.
Now, what side do you take? Isn't the internet for creativity and out-of-the-box thinking? A place for fun once respectable and doesn't offend anyone?
