Nike SB | Tightbooth
Nike and Tightbooth, a Japanese skate crew, have joined forces to create a new SB Dunk Low that celebrates the night. The shoe is a tribute to the Lenz video series, which documents the skate culture and style of Osaka and other cities in Japan. The shoe has a suede and leather upper, with overlays that resemble metal grates. It also has reflective elements, orange accents, and Tightbooth branding. The shoe will be released on November 11 at select skate shops and on November 14 on SNKRS.
The Lenz video series was started in 2005 by Shinpei Ueno, a skater and filmmaker who wanted to showcase the creativity and diversity of Japanese skating. He traveled around the country and filmed skaters who had a smooth and fast style, as well as a keen eye for finding spots and obstacles. He also used colorful and experimental visuals to create a unique aesthetic for his videos. His work has inspired many skaters and artists around the world, and now he has collaborated with Nike to design a shoe that reflects his vision. Watch the video above to see Ueno and Ryuhei Kitazume skate in the dark with the SB Dunk Low by Tightbooth.
