“London Calling” is an exhibition which is based on the early days of British skateboarding within the London scene and will take place on the 17th of August. The exhibition is being hailed as a tribute to a skate scene that crafted a golden era in skateboarding.

There will be images presented of Skate City, the UK's first official skatepark that used to occupy 3.5 acres of space near Tower Bridge, which is now long gone.

In addition to the photography and the exhibition, there will also be work on display from certain magazines that helped popularize skateboarding. Benji Boards will also present some articles from back in the day.

Benji Boards was a brand that became super successful for making skateboards in the 70s as the popularity of skating started to grow exponentially. An interesting thing about them is the ever-persistent rumors that Pink Floyd was an early investor, although this was never confirmed.
