Lebanon Unveils First Public Skatepark

This have been fraught in Lebanon, specifically the capital city of Beirut. There is a burgeoning skate scene in the city, but there has not been an infrastructure in place for it. People skate in city streets or on abandoned plots of land, which is not necessarily safe. Sadly, a port explosion in 2020 left a lot of the streets completely unnavigable.

However, that has now changed. NGO Make Life Skate Life, a group that has built skateparks in disadvantaged spots around the globe, has introduced the first public skatepark to Lebanon. The Snoubar Skate Park can be found in Horsh Park in Beirut. You can skate for free at the park, and they even have skateboards and protective gear available for use free of charge.
