Check Out Edmonton-based Skateboard Manufacturer Bob Yiannakoulias
When Edmonton’s Bob Yiannakoulias was 11, he built a mini-ramp in his bedroom to skate during the winter. Now, he’s in his forties, and he recognizes his body is not as spry as it once was. Yiannakoulias still loves skating, though, and he has taken his love for it to creating his own skateboard manufacturing company, Mars Time Skate Coffee. The Edmonton Journal profiled Bob, including a lot of photos of his work.
Yiannakoulias’ company also manufactures coffee and clothing, but the skateboards he puts together in his Edmonton garage seem to be his great love. He considers each skateboard a work of art, and his passion is clear. It’s also cool to see photos of him working on his boards and to see them as works in progress.
