ANOTHER FRESH BATCH OF NEW SKATE SHOES ARE COMING AT YOU PIPIN’ HOT!

This week’s top 10 skate shoe list is here.
MAX ROSENGREN  |

Last week, the new shoe game was pretty grim. In fact, it was so sketchy we didn’t even bother with a list. Quality matters around here. Luckily for us, and for you, we have a veritable shoe overload for this week. There are some true beauties that have either just hit the market or have been announced for the near future. In fact, this list is so hot we don’t want to make you wait for another second longer. Let’s get to it!

#1 Nike SB Low Dunk Denim

Release date: TBA

This week’s toe shoe has to be these denim-inspired Dunk Lows that surfaced this week and seem primed to be dropped within the coming months. Amidst the big Dunk hype Nike has chosen to take a step away from the original Swoosh design to create a new alternative, and we’re all for it. The Dunk Denim features double denim upper with light-contrast stitching patterns and, of course, the classic swoosh.

Now’s finally your chance to pull off a quadruple denim fit! Imagine pairing these shoes with that Canadian Tuxedo you’ve got crammed in the back of your closet. Of course, we can’t guarantee the quadruple denim’s success rate with the ladies. Stay updated for more info.

#2 Lakai Carroll

Release date: out now

It seems like someone at Lakai smashed the “RELEASE” button this week, as several models and new colorways hit the shelves. After aggressive discussions (followed by many apologies as we cleaned up the mess we made of our kitchen) we’ve landed on these being this week’s finest Lakai's.

The Lakai Carroll’s pay homage to early Lakai shoes, but they also add a touch of modern-day innovation with the trademark XLK sole, which gives a broken-in feel straight out the box. The black/blue colorway features a suede upper with mesh details, while the white/red colorway switches the suede for leather. The Carrolls can be yours for $85 right here.

#3 Fucking Awesome x Adidas Tyshawn

Release date: TBA

Tyshawn Jones took to Instagram this week to announce a new take on his signature Adidas model. The Supreme rider linked up with Fucking Awesome to add yet another accomplishment to his ever-growing list both on and off his board.

The shoe features a yellow upper with black detailing and a gum sole. The Fucking Awesome logo wraps around the heel to finish the shoe off. The release date has yet to be officially announced, but Tyshawn said he’ll drop this collab if his Insta post gets one million comments. With fewer than 9,000 comments over four days, it seems like Jones has bitten off more than he could chew. Or he never had any intention of hitting that number, to begin with.

#4 Vans x Sci-Fi Fantasy Old Skool

Release date: TBA

Vans add to their list of collaborations by teaming up with Cali’s living legend Jerry Hsu’s brand Sci-Fi Fantasy.  The green/blue classic Old Skools with white details, as well as the black/blue SK8-HI colorway with grey detailing land Vans and Sci-Fi Fantasy with two shoes on this week’s list. Enjoy the honor, dudes. Although not a lot of information regarding these beauties have come out, we can expect a release somewhere during the summer. Stay tuned for more information, and be sure to keep your wallet prepped for the occasion.

#5 Vans x Sci-Fi Fantasy SK8-HI

Release date: TBA

#6 Nike SB x Ben Jerrys Chunky Dunkys - STORE LIST

Release date: May 23 (Skate shops) / May 26 (Nike SNKRS)

These shoes only released a few days ago in store, and have yet to release on the SNKRS app, but they’ve already used up their annual post count. Chances are you’ve already seen this idiosyncratic shoe, but if not take a gander now. Inspired by a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream tub, the shoe is dressed in a field-inspired design as well as a cow-print upper and comes in an oversized Ben & Jerry’s ice cream tub. Whether you like the shoes or not, you have to give credits to Nike SB for its eye for detail. The shoe is finished off by a yellow drip swoosh to represent melting ice cream. Although, we haven’t had many yellow ice creams. Lemon sherbet is a different thing.

If you’re looking to score these shoes, you’re going to have to fight hypebeasts and “investors,” so if you can’t jump on them you will probably see them reappear on the resell market at insane prices. Best of luck to you and your internet speed.

#7 Lakai Riley 2 Velcro Strap

Release date: out now

As mentioned earlier, Lakai had a pretty good week. Another favorite from this week’s releases is the Lakai Riley 2 Velcro Strap. The Riley 2 is Tony Hawk’s sons Riley’s second shoe with Lakai. Yes, some of us are getting really old. The 2s have remained clean and minimalistic ever since they were released, and the newly-released version clearly sticks to that. Instead of the “slip in” like lacing system on the OG Riley 2’s, these sport a Velcro strap. The model came in three colorways of white leather as well as black and yellow suede and can be yours for $75 right here.

#8 Palace x Adidas PUIG

Release date: out now (SOLD OUT)

Lucas Puig and Adidas is a love story for the ages. With earlier models like the 2012 Lucas Puig Pro and the 2016 Lucas Premiere ADV in the bag, it was time to add another chapter to this romantic journey. What better way to do so than having both of Puig’s sponsors link up for a new model, the Palace x Adidas PUIG.

The model dropped for $120 earlier this week and, as expected, it sold out faster than you can say “Damn it.” Regardless of our lack of luck grabbing a pair, these shoes are a thing of beauty. The model came in three leather colorways of“Core Black,” “Chalk White,” and “Super Pop.” The shoe also features a reinforced toe, a pearlized tongue, gold branding, and a semi-translucent sole.

#9 Nike SB GTS – New Colorway

Release date: coming soon

This week also saw the classic Nike SB GTS receive a new colorway. The model sees a grey/blue upper along with a white toe box and detailing. The new GTS’s are finished off with a pop of color with a pink outsole. The exact release date is yet to be announced, but they’re expected to be releasing very soon. Stay updated for more exact release info.

#10 Emerica x Santa Cruz Wino Standard

Release date: out now

One of the more exciting collaborations that released this week was the Emerica x Santa Cruz collaborative capsule. The two uber-legendary brands teamed up for a collection that included tees, a pair of shorts, and three pairs of shoes.

The classic Wino Standard silhouette entered Santa Cruz land and came out with a minimalistic burgundy shoe with yellow co-branding and a classic white sole. In our opinion, this is the top look of the new trio. The Emerica x Santa Cruz Wino Standards are out now and can be on your feet for $76. Buy them right here.

That’s a wrap for this week. Best of luck in all your shoe-buying adventures. We’ll be back neck week, presuming that there are enough shoes to make up a worthy top 10 list. This week was so stuffed that we had to cheat to stick more than 10 shoes in here. No pressure, future weeks.
