The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Documentary Debuts Today
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is one of the biggest things to happen to skateboarding. Seriously. Those games introduced so many people to skating. The series has sold millions of copies. Kids who had never hopped on a board before booted up that original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and soon thereafter were buying a board and hitting their driveway to try and pop and ollie. You know who agrees with us? The makers of Pretending I’m a Superman, the new documentary from producer Ralph D’Amato and director Ludvig Gür. Yes, there is a documentary about Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and in fact it dropped today.
The film, which takes its name from the iconic Goldfinger song from the original game’s soundtrack, features interviews with the likes of Chad Muska, Rodney Mullen, Jamie Thomas, and, of course, Tony Hawk himself. Pretending I’m a Superman released today, August 18, on most of the major on-demand platforms. It shouldn’t be hard for you to find the doc, and if you loved the game you’ll probably want to check it out. Then you might want to dust off your old Nintendo 64 or Playstation and hit up the warehouse for old time’s sake. Want a little taste? Here's the trailer.
