Watch the Diamond Team Head to Fukui

When you think of skating in Japan, you’re first thought is probably of Tokyo. That’s fair. It’s a massive city with a lot of great skaters in it, not to mention a ton of excellent spots to skate. However, the skate scene in Japan does not begin and end with the city of Tokyo. There are plenty of other places to get your skate on, and you don’t even have to leave the island Tokyo is on in order to prove that. Instead, like the Diamond team, you can take a trip to Fukui to take advantage of the skate scene there.

The Fukui prefecture, kind of the Japanese equivalent of a state, is located on the western side of the island of Honshu. Skate spots abound in Fukui, and the Japanese riders on Diamond’s team are here to prove it. You can catch folks like Junichi Arahata, Tatsuma Tamano, Yuto Kojima, and several others in the video.
