WATCH AGELESS WONDERS CHICO BRENES AND RAY BARBEE IN ACTION
There are those who will tell you skateboarding is a young person’s game. Those folks don’t know Chico Brenes and Ray Barbee. If you think the time is going to slow these dudes down, you have another thing coming. Both men, long-established in the Bay Area and beyond, are in their forties now. In fact, Barbee is 48. He’s been skating for longer than most of the big names in skateboarding now have been alive. And yet, there are few people we want to see in action more than him.
Brenes seems to agree. He has a habit of posting videos of his sessions on Instagram – another way in which he is taking down expectation of folks his age – and recently he showcased himself and Barbee in action. In his post, Brenes called Barbee one of his faves since he was a kid. Of course, Brenes is 44, so they are still pretty much contemporaries. The duo took to their boards and tackled San Francisco’s iconic Fort Miley. May we all still have it to this degree when we’re in our forties.
