Vice Takes a Trip Into the World of Longboarding

When you think about skateboarding, your mind might go to folks nailing tricks and people hitting up skateparks. That’s all cool stuff, of course. We love a good part featuring some maestro on a board nailing trick after trick. However, this is not all that skateboarding is. 

Longboarding may be decidedly different as a form, but it’s still skateboarding. In a series for Vice called Post Radical, skater Rick McCrank delves into different aspects of skating. For the latest video, Vice takes a look at longboarding. While many skateboarders are interested in pulling off tricks and figuring out what ledges are grindable, longboarders are often all about speed. It’s incredible (and scary) how fast longboarders can get going. Even if you’ve never longboarded, this is an interesting watch. For a few minutes you’ll be thinking about skateboarding in a new way.
