Vans just dropped a fresh take on one of its most legendary skate shoes. Meet the Skate Old Skool 36+, a modern revamp of the iconic Old Skool™, built for the next generation of skaters while staying true to its roots.
Originally released in 1977 as the Style 36, this was the first Vans shoe to flex the iconic Sidestripe™ and a suede toe cap built for skateboarding’s raw progression. Now, in 2025, Vans is keeping that OG silhouette alive while bringing in next-level tech to match today’s skating.
The Skate Old Skool 36+ mixes style and functionality, upgrading the classic with a padded tongue and a shorter toe cap for better flick and control. Under the hood, Vans hooked it up with DURACAP™ reinforcements to handle heavy sessions, SICKSTICK™ gum rubber for insane grip, and POPCUSH™ insoles to absorb impact so you can send it without wrecking your feet.
Backing the launch, Vans stacked a heavy crew—Etienne Gagne, Basral Graito, Nelly Morville, and Zion Wright—for a campaign that hits hard, all set to Zion’s latest track, "Aquarius Baby."
