A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Asheville as a 46-year-old skateboarder tragically lost his life following a collision with a trash truck and a car. The fatal accident occurred when the skateboarder ran a red light, leading to a devastating collision that claimed his life.

Local authorities received the terrible news near the intersection of Merrimon Avenue and Marcellus Street at approximately 5:42 a.m. on May 22. As the details of the incident emerged, it shed light on the unfortunate accident.

According to the official police report, the skateboarder, identified as Benjamin David Brown, was crossing an intersection in North Asheville when he didn't stop at a red traffic light. Thinking this was ok to do he crossed, with a sad ending.

A trash truck and a car were proceeding through the same intersection with the green light. Despite their efforts, the drivers could not avoid colliding with Benjamin.

The force of the crash caused fatal injuries to him, tragically dying from his wounds at the scene before medics arrived.
