RED BULL TAKES US BEHIND THE SCENES OF THAT CRAZY MAZE THEY BUILT
A few days ago, we showed you the video that Red Bull made where they collaborated with team skater Vladik Scholz to create a giant, skateable version of their mazes (or labyrinths, we won’t litigate that again) where you have to turn knobs to get a marble into a hole. This version was massive, weighing in at 40 tons and being suspended 10 feet in the air. In the video, Scholz, Madars Apse, Jost Arens, and Gustavo Ribiero took “The Maze” for a spin, and as easy of a pun as it is, the video was truly amazing. We definitely aren’t tired of this contraption yet, so we are happy that Red Bull has released a behind-the-scenes video.
Unsurprisingly, making a giant hydraulic maze that is also skateable is a massive undertaking. It’s cool to see Scholz and company come up with the idea and turn it into reality. This easily could have gone terribly, but instead it worked like a treat and totally ruled. An early Christmas miracle? Or maybe just excellent engineering? Watch the video and decide.
