Radio Skateboard's Wild City Rat Race in Berlin
A random unsuspecting passer-by would think nothing of the admittedly eclectic bunch of skaters, congregating in a park on a sunny Monday morning in Kreuzberg Berlin. A hood not known for being very reserved when it comes to a public display of whatever.
But take a closer look into the fold-outs they're studying and debating, you'll realize it's not just any day but Go Skateboarding Day and Radio Skateboards (Berlin) have lined up nothing less than a grueling array of challenges named RatRace 2021, this gets even the most committed skateboarder sweating in his socks. And it's 90F out.
Spread over the numerous spots of the city, await the long to-do lists to tick off and load to camera roll. Ready to be presented in the same evening, fully cut and edited in front of a (tested) audience... well now you know why they called it a rat race!
The messed-up skate tricks (reverse truck slappies to name just one) across the Richter scale, beers down-in-one, and kebabs speed eating made the toenail painting, board designing, toilet seat kick flipping tasks seem like downtime. Believe us, we saw their faces! Longboard bowl action?…almost forgot to mention.
Dose Skateboarding was there the full mile. Enjoy the pics and don’t ask us who was on that train surfing...we don’t know!
