Nike SB Takes Us to the Mirror Universe with New Colorway
Nike SB has a penchant for riffing on classic Nike shoes and colorways from other ways of life. Take, for example, 2020’s Nike SB Dunk High “Varsity Maize.” The show, originally known as “Goldenrod,” was heavy on a certain flavor of yellow as part of the “Be True to Your School” Dunk collection. These colorways were a bit of a “wink wink, nudge nudge” to college sports fans in terms of color patterns, with the Varsity Maize calling to mind the maize and blue of the University of Michigan.
Now, in 2021 Nike SB is hitting us with a “Reverse Goldenrod” colorway. The goldenrod yellow is somehow both muted and bright and this time is paired with black accents. Once again, Nike SB has taken a hoops design and turned it into a great skate shoe in terms of form and function. The “Reverse Goldenrod” is arriving in Asia on July 3 and is expected in the United States later that month. Get a look at it and plan your shoe buying accordingly.
