NIKE SB DEBUTS NEW SHOES INSPIRED BY THE GRATEFUL DEAD
The Grateful Dead don’t have much to do with skateboarding, but they have been a part of counterculture for decades at this point. They were jam band legends before Phish ever played a note, and Jerry Garcia is still an icon. We’re sure there are plenty of skaters who are fans of the Dead, and still go see the current version of the band on tour. Nike SB is here for you if you’re a Deadhead who is looking for some new skate shoes, thanks to their new limited edition Dunks.
The shoes will definitely stand out on your feet, as the colors really pop. Right now, only the orange Dunks are available, but soon enough there will be yellow and green versions. The shoes have a fuzziness to them, which we’re on the fence about but we think we’ll warm to, and they feature the Dead’s dancing bear logo on the tongue. That logo means you may need to be a Grateful Dead fan to buy them, otherwise you’ll be telling enthusiastic Deadheads over and over that you aren’t actually into the Dead, thereby harshing their buzz.
