Josh Kalis Gives Us a Look at His New Indoor Park
Josh Kalis has some big plans brewing in Grand Rapids, the second-largest city in Michigan and the hub of the western side of the Mitten. He’s got an indoor skatepark in the works – ideal for a state with some iffy winter weather – and DGK gave us a look into it with the first episode of their series “The Build.”
Kalis provides insight on what it takes to build a skatepark, from sourcing materials to actually getting things built. It’s a labor of love, to be sure. That’s fitting for Kalis’ Park. The indoor skating plaza is all granite, and that includes granite exported from the iconic LOVE Park, a place many skateboarders are familiar with. At the time of the video, construction is still ongoing, but Kalis is able to at least skate a bit in his in-progress venture.
