A Nod To Japanese Drift Racing And Imported Cars

After being revived in 2017, Keith Hufnagel and Hanni El Khatib’s east coast skate label Metropolitan has joined forces with Adidas Skateboarding to offer us some brand new fire.

The sick capsule, serving some nostalgic Fast and Furious vibes, is led by a pair of blacked-out ZX8000s. The creps are accented with splashes of bold neon pink and yellow and reflective detail on the collar and toebox, paying homage to the late-night hues of street racing. The sneaker uses both Torsion Bar and ripstop technology, offering optimal support for when it’s time to turn up the heat. *insert racecar emoji*

The capsule also offers a five-piece apparel collection including a taped seam jacket and pant for all-weather with Climaproof technology, a Polar jacket and pant primarily constructed from shearling fleece with reflective accents, and a long-sleeve tee sporting contrasting stitches and chrome custom Metropolitan logos.

Discussing the concept for the drop, Hugnagel and El-Khatib reminisced on some of the rad import tuner cars they owned, stating that these whips are “a treasure chest of design inspiration.”

The Metropolitan x Adidas Skateboarding collection drops on the Adidas Skateboarding and Metropolitan sites on March 21. As of yet, retail prices remain under wraps…
