DIME X REEBOK BRING BACK AN ARTIST TRAVESTY FOR NEW COLLAB
Do you remember that infamous moment when an amateur took it upon themselves to touch up the painting Ecce Homo, specifically the Ecce Homo fresco painted by Elias Garcia Martinez around 1930? It’s one of many painting of that name that portray Jesus. An elderly woman in her eighties wanted to restore it, and the results were, well, disastrous. The painting was effectively ruined, but the internet loved it, and a new meme was born, a high-brow one at that.
You know who definitely remembers that moment of artistic infamy? Dime, the Montreal apparel company. They have paid tribute to Ecce Homo in the past, and they are doing it again, this time alongside Reebok. The companies are collaborating on a new take on the BB4000, one in white with blue accents and one in shades of brown. Both of them feature Dime branding, but they also feature an approximation of the marred Ecce Homo on the tongue. It’s subtle, but anybody who sees the tongue of your new Reebok BB4000s are going to do a double take. We don’t have an exact release date yet for this collaboration, but it will hit the stores some time in 2021.
