Cariuma Has Some Interesting Skate Shoes Available
I’ll admit, I had forgotten about Cariuma for a minute. There was a brief time there when they were really splashing in the skate shoe world. The Brazilian company is all about sustainability in the shoe world, and even have some vegan shoes. These “eco-conscious” skate shoes come in a variety of styles and colorways, though a lot of them are sold out. It feels like Cariuma may not bring them back either. A lot of their colorways are basic black-and-white, maybe with a gum sole in the mix, but there have some interesting offerings as well.
There have a leopard print version of two of their silhouettes which, yeah, hard pass. They’ve done a couple of collabs with Pantone, the color company. The Very Peri Catiba Pro Low is sold out, but the Naioca Pro in Viva Magenta is still around. Now, you have to deal with a Pantone branding on the shoe, but it is admittedly a nice color.
What struck me is a couple of their other collabs they’ve done. One is with Avatar, you know the movies. There is one colorway that is basic and just has “Avatar” written on it in the font of the film, but the Avatar Banshee has a distinct look that is pretty cool, though you’d have to love Avatar to rock them.
Then, there is the Peanuts collab. You know, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Peppermint Patty, et al. There are two slip-ons with Peanuts branding, one in rose and one in off-white. Those just feature a bunch of images of Snoopy of a skateboard. The Naioca Pro, though, has Peanuts branding on the back of the outer sole. However, they still just stick with Snoopy and Charlie Brown.
I don’t like Peanuts, but it is a fascinating collab. Some of the Catiuma shoes are definitely dope looking. Take a look for yourself. Maybe you’ll be rocking some Snoopy on your feet soon enough.
